"Know thyself", just what does that mean? ...

Do we really understand ourselves, or are we a product of the environment we grew up in and therefore a mechanical man or woman ? ...

Throughout life we are exposed to many influences, all derived from the class and culture we were raised to believe in. Yet there should come a point in life, where a "volte face" occurs and we begin to question ourselves and the things we were taught. Call it an "Epiphany" or a "Conscious moment" or even a "Crisis", it is a point in the time of our lives, that we must come to in order to change gears so to speak...

I have seen many moments in my life where what I previously held "Dear" to my mind and heart, no longer holds the same value they once did. "Entropy", is what I found to be the best explanation for this phenomena, where I had reached a point of "Maximal Entropy" and there was no further exchange of energy, like there was before in my directed fascinations. At the same time I was studying this "Entropy" phenomena, I came across the "classics" of ancient Greek philosophies, pointing to no less and sometime's more ideas that have been bantered about since time began...

Enneagram, engine of creation ? ...

There are many symbols within life that can add to our burgeoning consciousness, creating greater understanding in the overall process. We have the "yin yang", "seal of Solomon", "the Pyramid", "the Cross" and countless others from countless other systems...

What we think we know, can be viewed in all these symbols, depending of course upon perspective and mindset. The mindset and the perspective are the reference points, that can lead us up or down the proverbial staircase...

What I mean by this mindset idea, depends upon inside and outside conditions and how you have been formed from those conditions. These conditions some would say, are pre-existent and attracted by your present being, in order to learn within this present recurrence or incarnation...

The most powerful symbol of them all is the "Enneagram", where all other symbols can be found within. Some call it the "engine of creation", others the "road map of the return journey"...

Spring is in the air...The "rebirth" begins...

Spring, the season of "renewal", the season of new life and rebirth, where all life rises from the "dead" of winter...

Raising one's level of consciousness, can actually be considered a rebirth in a way, out with the old ideas and in with the new. The "Time body" can regenerate both in spirit and physicality if one is so inclined.

In this beautiful season, the season of love, all minds and hearts turn to creative aspects, where new life and relationships are unfolding. The circle begins again, I like to say of it, where hope "springs" eternal. In some circles we celebrate "the resurrection" as an example of rebirth and change, where the operative word is change itself.

Sacred cross, when time and eternity intersect...

"In connection with a remark that the feeling of Eternity enters into Self Remembering, and does not enter into self observation, we can remind ourselves of some of the ideas on Time which are accessory to this teaching..." TIME-BODY Great Amwell House, September 28, 1946

With this opening remark Maurice Nicoll began to explain the idea of the "Time body" in relationship to conscious development, recurrence and reincarnation. When I first met this idea, I had already learned a great deal from other schools of thought, that dealt with the philosophy of non duality concerning manifestation, resurrection and reincarnation. Naturally I had trouble accepting that there were multiple levels of time related to one's being.

But the more I began to think of and from this idea, the more it resonated within my inner self. Of course I had already learned that a division was necessary between the inner and outer "selves", where the inner is singular, internal and not naturally developing, while the outer is natural, multiple and only external. When I say "natural" I mean the acquired side of us, that comes from a development of personality according to conditions...

Eso Blog: Three point perspective... Is it the answer ???

Everything is in mirror image, yet confronts itself in opposites. We never seem to see this as a fact, especially in confrontation...

To look at a situation without bias, is a very difficult perspective to maintain, considering that the overwhelming majority function in only one or the other of the opposites. So we sit in two point perspective, oblivious to the fact that there might be a third point of view...

Life makes it that way, which is probably the reason people are referred to as "players on a stage", or "chess pieces on a board". Sad when you think about it, we always remained convinced that we can change if given the right "outside" conditions, but that in itself is a one point perspective view, change always comes from within and never from without...

We do not study our own psychology, we prefer to adopt some organisation's reasoning, leaving the thoughts for someone else to create. If we consider mental illness awareness in this month of "psychology awareness" we find "awareness" takes a back seat most of the time. The majority of problems are treated with "chemical therapy" that may remove the symptoms, but does not address the root problem. I have seen this practice many times before, both in myself and others...

When the eagle comes for the serpent...

Everything can be deemed allegorical, even ideas contained in stories or artwork, dramas, films, so you get the picture so to speak between the background graphic and the title, especially if you are approaching it from an esoteric viewpoint...

In this instance, "the Eagle" represents a higher centre or mind, coming down for a lower centre or mind. All to often we can get caught up in life, choosing ideas or feelings that really do not lead anywhere, except maybe back around the circle. Everything repeats unfortunately, yet we fail to see this because we look with those same ideas and feelings all of the time...

Change is what's necessary, just like a breath of fresh, cool, clean air, can change your whole energy pattern in an instant. We resist this idea of change though, preferring to hold onto old ideas and feelings long after their energy has worn out. Why is this so ? Because safe ground is familiar to us, whereas new territory is strange and at times frightening...

On the heels of "wonder" what if ? ...

Let's jump right to it shall we? "What If" is an interesting question to ask oneself and maybe even others at times, while traveling along this divided path of both, "esoteric" and "exoteric" exploration towards greater understanding...

It has all the hallmarks of self discovery and deeper exploration contained in those two precise words, yet they can also pose a hazard to those very characteristics. It functions as a doorway between pro and con, left or right, yes and no, with many countless other applications as well.
It is the "Q" that may drive us to search out more information, or on the other hand, the inhibitor that stalls any further activity because of potential hazards or negative conditions.

An excellent question and of course attitude, to carry with us throughout our living journey. So let's apply it to something as an exercise in understanding...

So "what if" this whole physical existence journey, is actually something entirely different than what we are coerced into believing? This can bring forth a myriad of "what ifs" as I full well know, it was the original question that took me all over the globe and through a whole host of different experiences. At each and every crossroads, another what if popped up...

What happened to the "wonder" of life...

"Wonder" an interesting word when you think about it. There are so many venues that can be explored through the power of "wonder"...

"Wonder (emotion), an emotion comparable to surprise that people feel when perceiving something rare or unexpected".

Now wonder is not the same as "question", they come from two different centres and probably different parts of those centres themselves. Wonder is a sensation given to us, that can lead to more incredible emotions if one is capable of mastering, understanding and using this higher sensation. It is more predominant when we are younger, more innocent and childlike, as compared to the cynical, preoccupied adults we become...

A child will approach everything from a sense of wonder, there is no opinion, attitude or mindset yet developed. Therefore they see more than an adult would normally see, with greater clarity and intensity, until we impose the "nonsense" word upon them. This is where the sense of wonder begins to dissipate in favour of the mechanical questioning.
In my opinion, this is the beginning of the fall into the great sleep, with the inevitable eventual developmental process, that leads into the creation of a mechanical man or woman...

So how do we define the "Ego"

So how do we define the "Ego", if we are trying to make distinctions between what is real and what is falsely created...

It is simple really, everything on the outside sad to say, is fake. Fake in the sense of having been created by cultural conditions, leading to personality with it's ever present inflated leader, "The Ego".

In my system of study we call this the "False personality" aided by his or her chief engineer, "Imaginary I"...

If one can look beyond the sensual world, taking a position of neutrality that allows one to see what is truly happening...
One would get a conscious shock that illuminates the ridiculous nature of one's self inflicted external struggles. If you really think about it most if not nothing at all, of what one has struggled for, will actually survive in 500 years time, except maybe in museums or private collections as curiosities of days gone by...

What we do take with us as we step through Death's doorway, is that "memory Movie" of one's life....

Are we alone ? Or just think we are...

This is a very interesting question when you really think about it, not just in a haphazard way, but from deeper reflection that asks within as well as without...

Are we unique in the idea of creation or evolution, or did we just happen by chance and circumstance ? Imagine for a moment the possibility of a doorway to another dimension, where a parallel universe exists, somewhat out of our reach from a physical point of view, but within our reach from a mind point of view.

Imagine looking through a window or doorway into this new found world, where the colors range from midnight blue skies to ranging shades of luminous white foliage, where the people themselves are coloured differently, perhaps in subtle shades of green, blue and purple. In addition to their physical differences, they may possess a mindset which views life differently, than that of our own point of view...
