Recurrence; That which was, shall be again

Larger View Recurrence is the topic of conversation today. It goes hand in hand with evolution and what we talked about last time in Evolution and recurrence In that post we established that man has made tremendous progress on the outside meaning, external or sensual life in such a short period of time. The scientific accomplishments are incredible especially in the last fifty or so years. However from an evolutionary point of view he has changed very little. He is still as violently barbaric as his ancestors were. War, hate, lust, avarice, greed etc have just become technically superior over time. So we can establish that man's level of being has not evolved at all. There is a reason for this, which when you think about it, makes sense. We are all in a state of lower consciousness or sleep if you will. We live at one of the lowest points of creation with little chance of escape without help. Now this was not supposed to be our fate. We were originally created as an experiment in self evolution, we were given the tools and the level of consciousness necessary. How we lost it, was through our greed and desire to fulfil all of our physical appetites in every form, We virtually became lovers of ourselves. So the elders taught their children and the children taught their children, thus descending away from what was created to be. As we went further and further asleep, there were intervals where Great Teachers were sent to us. They set things right for a time, we were then again left to our own devices. Now we are on the verge of a great calamity in the form of Global warming and severe climate change. We still persist though in deciding for ourselves according to our personal interests. Big business pressures government and the government responds not according to the science as you would think, but by challenging science to appease financial interests. More of the same I would say. Now this is a very good example of recurrence in its lowest form. Its called repeating circles. We do not learn from our mistakes, we justify and modify our behaviour for a time. The Enneagram shows us that all life, in fact every manifestation has a circular direction and flow. Your future is in your past and your past is in your future. I have added the days of the week to various points along the circle of the enneagram to demonstrate a curious aspect of occurrence. The curiosity is the intricate relationship of time shown in the illustration. By this I mean that what happens on Monday affects Wednesday and vice versa. Time is a circle with an irregular movement, that allows for the future to influence the past, according to the laws of the octave. Following the direction of the octave (indicated by the directional arrowheads), we begin to see that everything is related according to a higher level law. At our present level we have a very difficult time seeing this because we believe that, time is linear and only two dimensional. If you could see ahead to Wednesday from Monday, then you would see that during the day on Monday, something would happen either influenced by, or influencing Wednesday. Then what takes place on Wednesday affects the past on Tuesday and so on. This begins to show that time is not quite what we think it is. Your life is arranged like this also. Your past is in your future and your future is in the past. If a man changes nothing he is destined to live again in the same time period under the same conditions and with the same relationships. There is also the idea of Karma Yoga. By this I mean role reversal. An example of this goes like this. If you were selfish and hurt someone and did not change it through recognition and acceptance of your selfishness. Then it is possible you will change places and become the object of someone else's cruelty. We have to see both sides of the pendulum. In other words if you are King of the castle in one life, you may have to be the castle servant in another run through. So how does it make you feel to think that just maybe, this is the 1000th time you have lived your life. It certainly gives the idea of Deja vu some cause for thought, don't ya think? TBC Eso

The "Key" to life is....

Good morning I thought I would use a little animation to begin this post. It's a flash movie so to see it again just right click and highlight play. It is an interesting, question / statement and answer, don't you think? We are all in that search about life and it's meaning. If you are not particularly interested and are well placed in life then I say Bravo! You have found your heaven on earth. If, on the other hand, you find that life just doesn't do it for you, then you are in the right place to begin your search. In my last post I talked about the Enneagram and its creation. Lets continue from there and talk from the points of; Evolution and recurrence. Evolution is the what, every living essence aspires to. It is a way back to the source or, a desire to increase perfection. Animal life has its own scale, but that is for a later discussion. If you think about it we are driven to create better art, engineering, architecture, social conditions. We evolve externally (through science) from ie: "the horse and buggy" to "Electric cars" and so on. My Great Grandfather would be very uncomfortable if he suddenly manifested in this space and era beside me. Then again the same can be said of the reverse osmosis so to speak. Now to say that we have evolved, is right to a point. We have better lifestyles than generations previous, but we still have the unsolved problems of Peace and Security with the end to violence. "Exoterically" we are just as barbaric as our ancestors even though "externally", we are more mechanically sophisticated. We live in two worlds that of the external sense based reality and that of the more internal psychological, philosophical, and mystical (mind) reality. Personality is the puppet that keeps us at the external reality. We are Hypnotized into believing only in the senses. To escape from that reality requires "unlocking the doors in the mind". No easy feat to say the least. To think differently requires courage and force. You risk being labelled "one of those kinds of people". This brings us to the idea of recurrence. TBC Eso
