2012 The year in review...

Everything transforms, "no-thing" stays the same, we can see this happening all around us, visible in the seasons change as well as the life itself..

 As the years go by, we are witness to, the day turning into night, the night into day, spring into summer, summer into fall, fall into winter, winter back into spring. We watch a child turning into an adult, then again sometimes near the end of life, the adult turns back into a child again. Yet for the most part, we are not conscious of these changes and simply ride the wheel of life, with only brief exceptions usually created in a nostalgic moment, where we see the whole life as it was, and not just the part in the moment.

Curiously this can be both a painful and pleasurable moment, if we begin to see the events as they truly were and not as we imagined them to be. Gurdjieff once explained;

"The idea of the possibility of broadening man's consciousness and increasing his capacities for knowledge stands in direct relation to the teaching on cosmoses. In his ordinary state a man is conscious of himself in one cosmos, and all the other cosmoses he looks at from the point of view of one cosmos. The broadening of his consciousness and the intensifying of his psychic functions lead him into the sphere of activity and life of two other cosmoses simultaneously, the one above and the one below, that is, one larger and one smaller. The broadening of consciousness does not proceed in one direction only, that is, in the direction of the higher cosmoses; in going above, at the same time it goes below."

To remember is a good thing that we must practice at all times.  As such I keep the past years posts in safe storage so that any who wish can peruse the thoughts of "yesteryear"...
